Reshuffling the deck is inevitable form time to time in any big company as projects and strategies shift – Reorg time!

I’ve so far identified three kinds. Let me describe them with an analogy:

Picture yourself on a patch of land in the middle of nowadays Germany in the early 1800s …

  1. … you sit there, watching you potatoes grow and in the distance you see a big dust cloud with people and horses and wagons and weapons moving from West to East. Two months later, someone knocks on your door and says – in French – “I want your taxes!”
  2. … you sit there, watching your potatoes grow and a big dust cloud with people and horses and wagons and weapons moving from West to East moves right over your field – and the potatoes are gone.
  3. … you sit there, watching your potatoes grow and a big dust cloud a big dust cloud with people and horses and wagons and weapons approaches from the West – and a similar looking one from the East (!!!) and you end up dead.

... you sit there, watching [...] moving from West in no definite direction. And similar groups from East, North and South. They start running in large circles around you. Then they leave. Two months later, you still wonder what that noise was all about.

And the then french chief say "Potatoes? are you nuts? from now on you'll be doing Potatoes. With lipstick!"

side note - when clicking to your posts directly from greader (with the utm=... querystring) the server kindly responds with a 404. removing the querystring brings the posts back. If only you knew someone who is familiar with DasBlog's sources ...

… you sit there, watching you potatoes grow and in the distance you see a big dust cloud with people and horses and wagons and weapons. The dust settles when the wagons stop at your farmhouse. You are informed that all of these people will now teach you how to grow your potatoes and will need a place to sleep.

… you sit there, watching you potatoes grow and in the distance you see a big dust cloud with people and horses and wagons and weapons moving from West to East. You are informed that other people will be along to deal with the potatoes while you are relocated hundreds of miles away and forced to become a cobbler.
